Article - Paradox of the "Unowned Slave"

A recent discussion in the Gorean Tavern.  Currently my regard is that allowing the acceptance of "unowned slaves" we allow the diminishing value of ownership.  A woman can not own her as a man can.

Each and every time we accept a woman who is not owned to pretend she is a kajira we afford her a diminished feeling of a sense of submission that she unconsciously ties to ownership.   Ownership then changes its meaning in the mind of a woman, and in that state she allows herself the breadth of action and presentation that a Gorean man may not.

In a sense of cause and effect, since it is allowed the men of Gor then permit and accept the behavior as those girls are not theirs.

I am not stating this is cart blanche in the eyes of Gorean men, but it does afford a behavior which continuously breaks down the understanding of Gorean community that I was introduced to, and that I believe is more representative of what is inherently searched for.

I ask those men of the Gorean IRC community to read through, pause and consider how you would like to see Gor expressed in our community, and how this concept of rescinding your acceptance of the "unowned slave" may benefit your steps forward.

I love you all,

~Thalin

Below you will find a recent example of a discussion, and I believe most Gorean men will immediately recognize the difference in the way in which this unowned woman responds form that of a kajira.
